Congratulations Kevin Rudd!
What a relief to find that the Australian PM has apologised to the Aboriginal people of Australia for the lost generations. However, how does one repay for the losses sustained over more than a century?
Money has been used in the past, by the previous 'colonial bosses' maybe to wriggle out of their guilt. But the psychological and spiritual damage needs to be addressed.
We as Western thinkers, have little idea of the 'how' to empower the peoples who have been oppressed through colonialism. Self Worth has been damaged and a split that results in admiration for the oppressors life-style but resentment and hate for the oppression and often the oppressors.
How do we counter that immense split in the psyche?
If anyone has the answers please let me know.
